Tibetan Tsakli and Saddle Blankets through April 14

10:00 AM to 05:00 PM, March 1, 2018

Location: Amarillo Museum of Art

Tsakli performed an important role in the training of Buddhist monks and lay persons. They served the necessary function of flashcards as aids to memorization. Tibetan saddle blankets were originally woven as a protective covering for a horse and often in sets. They are a relic of a time when art and utility were one in the same.
